How to Change your Dallas Salon and not Feel Guilty about it
Over time your hair care needs are going to change. You may feel that your current Dallas salon just isn’t able to offer you what you need anymore. Perhaps they have changed staff or they are not current on the new looks and procedures offered. Perhaps their prices are too high compared to other locations. Maybe you want Hair Extensions and they do not offer it there.
No matter what the reason is you do not have to feel guilty about changing the salon you go to. Many people allow such guilt to keep them somewhere that isn’t a good match for them. First, you have to decide if you are really ready to move on. Make a list of the pros and cons about the salon you currently visit. This will help you to get the entire issue into perspective.
If there are small things that you may be able to fix by communicating with the salon then try it first. For example if you are upset over the higher prices tell them. If you have been a long term customer they may be willing to cut you a price break in order to keep you at their Dallas salon. If you are upset over the wait time each time you come in for an appointment perhaps they can make changes to their procedures so that you get seen on time from that point on.
If you really aren’t happy with the look you get from your current salon though it really is time to consider going elsewhere. Nothing is worse than paying for a terrible hair cut or not liking the color you have displayed when you walk out the door. If you are ready to shake things up but your Dallas salon is stuck in the same old routine then you need to get someone that is up to speed on trends and ready to take on the challenge.
The decision is yours to tell the hairstylist at the salon that you are not coming back or not. Some people never schedule that next appointment and that is the end of it. Yet some hairstylists will call their clients to ask when they want to come in if they haven’t heard from them for a while. If you feel comfortable having a conversation about it then tell them. They are professionals and should be able to handle that information.
You can also write them a short note thanking them for the past service but then telling them you have decided to get your hair done in another salon. You can choose to give them reasons why in the note or just leave it at that. You don’t have to make it an emotional turbulent change or feel guilty for doing what is right for your hair.
It is fine to discuss with another Dallas salon what you are looking for and why you are changing. However, it is best not to mention the salon you were with before or the hairstylist that you were working with. Keep things very professional and you can do that by leaving those personal parts of the discussion out of it. State what it is that you want from the new salon and find out if they can meet your needs or not.
